Professional Profile

 

Rosemary was appointed to the position of Executive Director of Royal College of Nursing Australia, in April 2000. She has had a broad career in acute hospital and community nursing, as well as in government relations. Before moving to Victoria to take up the position of Director, Nursing Policy and Planning in the then Department she held the position of Director of Nursing at Royal Adelaide Hospital. Rosemary has had experience in the area of nursing education policy, policy for the regulation of nursing and has practical experience as a consultant to the World Health Organisation (WHO) in the Nepal Nursing Council

Rosemary’s academic interests involve the regulation of health professionals, having previously chaired the Nurses Board of SA in the 1980s. In addition, Rosemary was elected as a member of the Board of the International Council of Nurses (ICN) in 2001 and was elected as its Second Vice President in 2005.
