Fiona Stoker is the Principal Nurse Advisor for the Department of Health and
Human Services Tasmania. Fiona has held this position since January
2001.
Fiona has a range of experience both here and in the UK and has
worked within the Acute Care and Community environments. Fiona has
also undertaken a number of reviews in associated health care environments
in Tasmania including; a Review of Women’s and Children's
Clinical Services at the Royal Hobart Hospital and the Introduction
of a nurse within a Primary Health Care framework within the Youth
Detention Centre in Tasmania.
Fiona was appointed to the Health Advisory Committee in 2000 and
to the Australian Health Ethics Committee in 2003 both are Principal
Committees of the National Health and Medical Research Council.
During this period Fiona has been involved in a number of multidisciplinary
working committees producing clinical practice guidelines such as
Blood Component Therapy and the Management of Overweight and Obesity
in Adults.
Fiona's interests are in evidence- based practice, ethics, organisational
change and culture, Strategic and workforce planning in health care,
literature and history. |
